Choir urgently in need of a tenor or two (and a bass)

THE organisers of a charity concert are urgently looking for bass and tenor vocalists for its big performance this weekend.

Woking Sings are seeking the vocalists to join their people's giant choir for a performance at 7pm on Sunday at the New Victoria Theatre.

The concert is a chance for people who enjoy singing, no matter what their ability, to get involved in a large scale performace by joining hundreds of like-minded people, and award-winning comedian and conductor, Rainer Hersch, for a singing extravaganza of well-known tunes.

Everything from Prom's-style classics, through to Gilbert and Sullivan, to hits from The Lion King will be performed. Woking Sings will also feature performances from solo singers, Surrey Youth Choir, a professional orchestra and a large children's choir of primary school pupils.

Donations collected on the night will be given to the Mayor's chosen charities for this year, which are Link Leisure, the Woking Branch of the Alzheimer's Society and the Woking Community Action Fund.

Bass and tenor singers who wish to get involved should purchase a participant's ticket from the New Victoria Theatre Box Office.

Those wishing to experience this unique event, but not wanting to participate, can still purchase tickets to be in the audience.

Tickets cost £5 for giant choir participants, £8 for members of the audience and are available from the New Victoria Theatre Box Office on 0844 871 7654 or visit www.ambassadortickets.com/woking.
