WOKING will expect at least £30,000 for midfielder Harry Arter when Swindon call back for the midfield talent in January.
On top of that, Cards will play hardball over sell-on clauses and additional payments once he has made so many appearances in a Swindon shirt.
Woking boss Graham Baker officially flat-batted the future of his player, who celebrates his 20th birthday on December 28, but admitted big money for the Blue Square South side could be too much of a temptation.
He said: "If a club comes in for him, we’ll talk.
"If the financial offer is too stupid to turn down, then I’ll do what’s right for Woking Football Club. At the moment Harry’s a Woking player and here he will stay until that happens."
Arter was invited down for a trial with Swindon last week and admitted, all things being equal, he wants a crack at League One.
He said: "If they come for me, of course I’m going to go. It might sound blunt, but I’m sure the management would advise me to go as well.
"It went well in the Swindon game. I was up against the likes of Papa Bouba Diop from Portsmouth, but it was more like an academy match in terms of atmosphere.
"As a professional you want to play as high as you can and when I had 14 months out through injury, it stopped me playing at the level I think I’m
capable of.
"But there’s a lot of time for me to move on and I’m happy here at Woking."
Swindon manager Danny Wilson indicated that Arter did well enough at his trial and the League One pacesetters have adopted a policy of snapping up non-league talent and developing them at the County Ground.
Young striker Charlie Austin was an instant hit after his switch from Poole to Swindon in October and Wilson is understood to have the same plans for Arter.
